Vernon J. Walter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon J. Walter of Cologne, Minnesota, who passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter and Clara Walter (Wickenhauser); his granddaughter Kristal Luedloff; his parents-in-law, Carl and Gertrude Herrmann; his son-in-law Rueben Kroells; his siblings, Melvin Walter and Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Everett Geske, Bev Walter and Merlin Herrmann.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Herrmann; his children, Bonnie Luedloff (Jim), Connie Kroells (Larry Rysavy), Tom Walter (Pam), Terry Walter (Deb), Gary Walter, Larry Walter and Jeff Kubat (Lynn); his grandchildren, Kortney Luedloff, Travis Mathwig, Ben Walter (Amber) and Tim Walter (Alicia); his sons, Blake, Reid Kubat (Crystal) and Philip Knight (Dana); his great grandchildren, Alex, Reese, Otto, Dirks, Hazel, Aubrey and Ellie; his brother Richard Walter; and his siblings-in-law, Marci, Gerry Engelke, Gerri, Don Trocke, Mariann and Richard Kamps. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (210 Church St E, Cologne, MN 55322). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
