It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laura E. Schroeder of Cologne, Minnesota, who passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Poppler and Theresa Poppler (Bovy); her husband William "Bill" H. Schroeder Sr.; her granddaughter Amy Barlau; her son-in-law Terry Lee Nemitz; and her siblings, Rose Meuwissen (Eugene), Frances Schmieg (Ray), Kathy Quast, Marcella "Sally" Eder (Florian), Barbara Larson (Robert), Sister Mary, Richard Poppler (Arlene) and Gerald Poppler.
She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Schroeder (Cindy) and Lori Nemitz of Odessa; her grandchildren, Andrew Schroeder (Lindsay), Robert Thuening (Cassandra), Rebecca Sand (Matt) and Derek Thuening; her great grandchildren, Morgan Schroeder, Oliver Schroeder, Kaylee Barlau, Austin Barlau, Brentley Thuening, Aubrey Thuening, James Sand, Annabel Sand, Henry Sand, Dakota Thuening and Charles Thuening; her brothers, Charles Poppler and Leander Poppler (Chris); and her siblings-in-law, Merline Quast and Geraldine Poppler. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church (210 Church St E, Cologne, MN 55322). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
