He was predeceased by: his mother Hattie Finnila; his stepfather Toivo Finnila; and his father Waino Waisanen. He is survived by: his children, Mark Waisanen (Jayne) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Mary Waisanen of Cohasset, MN, Melanie Cohen of Seattle, WA and Debra Solem (Michael) of Cohasset, MN.; his grandchildren, Abby Johnson (James), Katy Reierson (Jake), Miranda Roethle (Kyle), Chelsea Solem and David Cohen; his great grandchildren, Logan, Hudson Johnson, Caleb and Camden Reierson; his half-brother James Finnila; and his wife Elaine. He is also survived by numerous nieces/nephews, cousins and in-laws.
