She was predeceased by: her parents, James Nicholson and Ruth Nicholson (Brinkman); her husband David Ellens; and her siblings, Jim Nicholson and Nancy Brausen.
She is survived by: her children, DeeDee Baumgarner (Saber) of Baja California, Bruce Ellens of St. Cloud, Michael Ellens (Grace) of Cold Spring and Melissa Buckles of Stafford, VA; and her siblings, Robert Nicholson (Mary), Audrey Ziebol of Minneapolis, MN, Pat Chilgren (Donald) of Leesburg, FL and Shirely Fohner (David) of Palisade, MN. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to First United Methodist Church or Benedictine Living Community, Cold Spring.
