He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Clyde and Opal Irvin (Webber); his son Brian (Buck); his wife Beverly G. Shuneson; his children, Sheryll Friend (Jeff Hauge) and Bruce Irvin (Marilyn); his grandchildren, Reid Jilek (Nikki), Scott Jilek Ashley (Shannen), Tiffany Irvin, Jennifer Weiers (Jon), Shantel Threatt (Dee), Tyler Irvin (Renee), Jordan Irvin (Brianna) and Sarah Irvin; his sister LaVonne Mortenson; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Shuneson, Joan Shuneson and Gary Mortenson. He was also cherished by 18 Great grandchildren, nephews, and one niece.
In 2006, Russ was honored to receive the Virginia McKnight Foundation Award in Human Services.
