He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf "Ralph" Lipelt Sr. and Emma Lipelt; his siblings, Marion Shaw, Grant Lipelt, Phoebe Erickson, Norma'Mickey'Magelky and Arlene Nissen; and his son Ralph Paul Lipelt (Kami).
He is survived by: his children, Judith Cortner (Shane), Dawn Lipelt, Deniece (Ernie Angwin), Grant Lipelt (Nicolle), Kent Lipelt (Harmony) and Brent Lipelt (Lisa); his wife Julia Lipelt; and his sisters, Cathryn Pearson and Bonnie Jacobson (Lee).
Some of his contributions to the midwest landscape include: construction of the Bismarck Expressway Bridge, the Coal Creek Station evaporation ponds, the Hawktree Golf Club, the I-94 Interstate construction and many others.
