He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Mertes and Hazel Mertes; and his pet Megan. He is survived by: his wife Wyona; and his children, Rochelle Brenneman (Arv), Randy Mertes (Jean), Therese Aultman (Rodney) and Peter Mertes (Sharon). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
