He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Tinquist and Lily Tinquist; his wife Cherry Asmus; and his siblings, Carol Jean, Phyllis Hoard and Ted Tinquist.

He is survived by: his children, Davin Tinquist (Terry) of Cohasset, MN, Lisa Olson (Mike) of Grand Rapids, MN and Kevin Tinquist (Carrie) of Cohasset, MN; his brothers, Paul Tinquist (Dee), Carl Tinquist (Nancy), Jon Tinquist (Pearl) and Ken Tinquist (Kathy); his sister-in-law Jean Tinquist; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Tinquist (Brianna), Afton Rakestraw (Derek), Mike Olson (Courtney), Jared Olson (Jessica), Ben Olson (Katie), Katie Hellevik (Jake) and Morgan Tinquist. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
