He was predeceased by: his wife Martha; his brother-in-law LaVerne Sandberg; and his son Jerry Wahl. He is survived by: his spouse Dolores; his children, Deborah Gossen (Daniel) of Crookston, MN, Curtis Wahl (Chris) and Jeffrey Wahl (Sue); his daughter-in-law Joan Wahl of Grand Rapids, MN; and his sisters, Beverly Sandberg of Grantsburg, WI and Marilyn Blanhenhein (Gerry) of Monmouth, OR. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
