He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Smith and Lizzie Smith (Bear); his siblings, Rupert, Ronald, Roger, Raymond Smith, Bernice Jarski, Theresa LaPrairie, Audrey Smith and Valerie Ross; and his granddaughter Amanda Stolz.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Smith; and his children, Jason Smith (Ariann) of Cloquet, Betty Reese (James) of Dayton, OH, Rhonda Peterson (Dennis) of Hermantown, Lesia Berg of Cincinnati, OH and Peggy Susan Rhoden (Jeff) of Huntsville, AL.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
