He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Backe and Esther Backe; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sather; his children, Jason Backe-Gibson (Ted) and Jennifer Hall (Sean); his siblings, Larry Backe (Nancy) and Sue Charon (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Brady, Sydney and Keagan Hall. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
