He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Thompson and Hildur Thompson (Bergman); his children, Robert Gustav and Debra Louise Kucera (Thompson); his granddaughters, Jennifer Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; his great grandchild Peyton Johnson; and his grandson-in-law Neil Mayo.
He is survived by: his son Mark William (Cris Thompson) of Menahga; his wife Phyllis Thompson of Wadena; his sisters, Carol Baker of Wilnar and Betty Stevenson (Stan) of Park Rapids; and his son-in-law Bill Kucera of Cloquet.
