She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Nelson and Hilda Nelson (Nelson); her husband Ray W. Salo; her siblings-in-law, Rueben, Garith and Elsie (Rudolph Kajander); and her son-in-law Tim Ellingson.
She is survived by: her children, Janine Johnson (Dennis) of Bettendorf, Gretchen Bastien of Forest Lake, Faith Salo of Cloquet and Charles Salo (Jill) of Cloquet; her sisters, Rose Marie Liimatainen of Cloquet and Marjorie Kangas of Madison, Wisc.; her brother-in-law Kenneth Salo (Ann) of Dayton, Minn.; and her grandchildren, Stacy Halli (Shawn), Kristi Wooden (Mike), Erik Blair (Gina), Hope Hieb, Christine Sawyer (Mike), Seth Johnson, Hannah Johnson and Jordan Anderson. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
