He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Thornton and Edward L. Thornton; his wife Ardelle; his siblings, John (Jack), Wayne (Dutch), Margaret, Pat Abear and Carol Gamulo; and his great grandchild Kasey Lee Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Bahen (Joe), Paulette Holt (Tom), Michelle Thornton (David Erler) and Edward Thornton (Donna); his brother Bob Thornton; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Erik, Joe, Adam, Tom, Erin and Emma; his great grandchildren, Monita, Alex, Kash, Gavin, Jafton and Avaya; and his great great grandchildren, Opal, Cove and Alder. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
