He was predeceased by: his parents, John McLain and Theresa McLain (Loumala); his nephew Preston; his niece Jasmine; and his father-in-law Warren Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife Angie Carlson; his children, Isaac McLain (Hannah) of New Auborn, WI, Ben McLain (Danielle Haluptzok) of Cloquet, Amanda McLain of Superior, Lyndsey Raudebaugh (Chase) of Superior and Nickolas McLain of Cloquet; his grandchildren, Justin, Skyler, Libby, Lilly, Reed, Ryder, Hunter and Leland; his siblings, Connie Luomanen (Dave) of Duluth, Bruce McLain (Gina) of California, Jean Laurin of Duluth, Cheryl Clark (Robin) of Cloquet, Brooke (Sue Langley) of Cloquet and Tracy Fergeson (Bob) of Cloquet; his mother-in-law Jackie Carlson; and his siblings-in-law, Bob (Jessica), Gus (Becky), Dan Carlson (Gloria) and Erin Carlson of Hermantown. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended families.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
