He was predeceased by: his parents, Alcide "Frenchy" Lafontaine and Murel "Sis" Lafontaine; his siblings, Alcide "Poopsie" Lafontaine, Murel "Punky" Swanson, Gordy Lafontaine, Jeanne Kortie (Ken Perttula), Roger Lafontaine and Mary Carter; and his parents-in-law, Ladean and Ellen Overlie.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Lafontaine (Overlie); his children, Kate Mason (Dustin) and Joel Lafontaine (Alyse); his grandchildren, Dane, Beau, Elle and Brooks; his siblings, Sharon Baker (Earl), Larry Lafontaine (Kathy) and Edna Seboe (Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Dean Overlie (Cindi), Eric Overlie (Karyl) and Pat Lafontaine. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Essentia Hospice or Solvay Hospice House in honor of Brian.
