She was predeceased by: her husband Glenn W. Shannon; her parents, Hilmer Anderson and Dell Anderson; her aunt Martha Rothwell (Mattie); her siblings, Ella Anderson and H. Edward Anderson; her son-in-law Ron Peterson; and her great grandchild Harper Peterson.

She is survived by: her children, Mike Shannon (Michelle), Marguerite Peterson, Jim Shannon (Cathy) and Jeff Shannon; and her grandchildren, Courtney Paulsen (Casey), Ben Shannon, Nate Peterson, Bart Peterson (Jenny), Joe Shannon-Kellerman (Caitlen), Leigh Whitaker (Brent), Flannery Shannon (Alex Beatty) and Garrett Shannon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Phyllis wanted any memorials made on her behalf to go directly to the charity of the individual's choice.
