He was predeceased by: his parents, George Welckle and Dorothy Welckle (Gostomczik); his daughter Theresa; and his siblings, George, Betty Blaschko and Joyce Mitzel.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Welckle of Cleveland; his children, Christopher Welckle (Shannon) of Prior Lake and Cynthia Bigby (Carl) of Ft Worth, Texas; his grandchildren, Nathan Bigby and Amanda Chang; and his great grandchildren, Carl, Caleb Bigby, Jade, Jasmin Chang and Bethany Cape.
