He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Shelquist and Sadie Shelquist (Brun); and his siblings, June Melbo, Donna Farber, William, Milton and Leroy Shelquist.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his children, Kari Tompkins (Jim) and Greg Shelquist (Jayne); and his grandchildren, Emily Taplin (Isaac), Liza Shelquist and Leah Shelquist.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Clearwater County Historical Society.
