He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leenerts and Ethel Leenerts (West); his wife Gerry Leenerts; his son Joseph Leenerts; his parents-in-law, Joe and Ernestine Coubal; and his siblings, Dale Leenerts (Ethel), Bob Leenerts and Betty Ostenson (Warner).
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Becca Maxwell (Tyler), Haley Swedzinski (Cal), Zach Fischer (Rebecca), Chase Feuerhelm (Holland), Brandon Leenerts, Taylor Leenerts, Cole Fischer and Allen Leenerts; and his great grandchildren, Delanie Fischer, Beau Fischer, Lillian Swedzinski and Landon Maxwell.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (3472 260th Ave, Boyd, MN 56218).
