He is survived by: his wife Barbara Pesta Karjala; his stepdaughters, Malissa Lewis of Sacramento, CA and Cheryl Holmquist (Mike Blom) of Clarissa; his siblings, Terri Ryan, Paula Morgan, Kirsten Mylalla and David Gamache; and his grandchildren, Coty Mansager, Jazmine Lewis, Kaelyn Holmquist and Camryn Holmquist.
