He was predeceased by: his sons, Gregory and Craig; his siblings, Iona Leagjeld (Glen) and Jack Pesta (Lucille); his granddaughter Nichole Luberts; and his nieces and nephews, Eileen, Jerry and Chuck.

He is survived by: his children, David (Arlis) of Long Prairie, Deb Kortuem (Don) of Long Prairie, Johnelle Luberts of Little Falls, Tresa Hudson (Doug) of Belmont, NC and Tim (Patty) of Long Prairie. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
