He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Fernholz (Collins) and Bill Fernholz (Bill); his daughter Agnes Fernholz; and his brothers, Merlin (Eunice Fernholz), Leon (Bernice Fernholz), Dwain Doyle (Mildred Pruden), Robert Langan (Frances), Julius Marquardt (Elizabeth) and LaMond Shinnick.
He is survived by: his wife Agnes Langan of Bridget's Catholic Church; his children, William Fernholz (Bill), Michelle Schlagel (Matt), Kevin Fernholz (Shawn) and Diane Pieper (Tom); his grandchildren, Sarah Lundquist (Adam), Nathan Schlagel (Bobbi), Bryan Schlagel, Courtney Fernholz, Megan Fernholz, Luke Pieper and Emma Pieper; his great grandchildren, Simon Lundquist and Miles Lundquist; and his sister Theresa Doyle.
