He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Michaels and Helen Michaels; his stepfather Leonard O'Connor; his siblings, Margaret Schack, William and John; his son Jonah; his grandson Derek; and his children-in-law, Jeff and Lisa.
He is survived by: his wife Beatrice; and his children, Laura Jonell, Mark (Sonia), Ellen Edwards (Jerry), Patricia Koty (Ken), James and Janet Hoenigschmidt (John). He is also survived by grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
His children often asked what he would like for Father's Day, and Jim's request would be for them to make a donation to the Life Care Center.
