He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Blackwelder and Darline Blackwelder (Braman); his sister Arloa; his brother-in-law Jim Ironside; his siblings, Gene Blackwelder and Arline Erickson; and his parents-in-law, Mary and Max Rixe.
He is survived by: his wife Andrea Blackwelder of Chokio; his sons, Mark Blackwelder (Amy) of Chokio and Jason Blackwelder of Marion; his grandchildren, Brett Blackwelder (Callie) of Chokio, Katelyn Engquist (Kelly) of West Fargo and Kent Blackwelder of Chokio; his great grandchildren, Lyla Blackwelder, Max Blackwelder and Kennedy Engquist; and his siblings-in-law, Greta Blackwelder, Maynard Erickson, Roger Rixe and Marie Rixe.
