Andrea Blackwelder Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 25, 2025, at the age of 83, Andrea Blackwelder of Chokio, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Max Rixe and Mary Rixe (Whelan); her husband Earl Blackwelder; her parents-in-law, Walter and Darline Blackwelder; and her siblings-in-law, Arloa, Jim Ironside, Gene Blackwelder, Maynard and Arline Erickson.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Blackwelder (Amy) of Chokio and Jason Blackwelder of Marion, SD; her grandchildren, Brett Blackwelder (Callie) of Chokio, Katelyn Engquist (Kelly) of West Fargo, ND and Kent Blackwelder of Chokio; her great grandchildren, Lyla Blackwelder, Max Blackwelder, Kennedy Engquist and Nora Blackwelder; her siblings, Roger Rixe of St. Cloud and Marie Rixe of St. Paul; and her sister-in-law Greta Blackwelder of Bentonville, AR. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (400 2nd St E, Chokio, MN 56221). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery.
