He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony and Helen (Herendeen); and his sister Jo Marie Staniger. He is survived by: his wife Rosalind; his children, Amber Sides (Scott), Aaron Staniger (Alie) and Christine Christie (Joe); his stepchildren, Michele Zaben (Sander) and Michael Bolen (Shannon); and his brothers, Tom Staniger (Carol) and Mark Staniger. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fairview Hospice of Hibbing.
