He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Garness and Selma Garness; and his siblings, Raymond and Elsie. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Garness (Nielsen); his children, Jack E Garness (Brenda) of Crooks, SD and Lisa M Haaf (Jim) of Stafford, VA.; his grandchildren, Dustin Garness (Hezel) of Hartford, SD, Cassandra Garness (Jerry) of Alcester, SD, Samantha Van Asselt (Austin) of Hartford, SD, Aaron (Abby) and Andrew Haaf; his great grandchildren, Keanu Morelos (Cassie) and Sami; and his sister Mary Caswell of Thornton, CO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We are asking for memorials to be directed to Zion Endowment Fund for school scholarships.
