He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Welch and Ella Welch (Herrick); and his brother Freeman Welch (Marjorie). He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Lutzi, Sharon Fisher (Brian), Dawn Buck (Daryl), Amy Koenigs (Adam), Brian Welch (Karen), Cye Welch and Mark Welch (Nicole); his brother Martin Welch of Winterville, N. C.; his grandchildren, Scott, Jade Lutzi, Brandon Buenger, Zachary, Marshall Welch, Andrew, Calvin, Mason Buck, Austin, Sean, Josie Koenigs and Erin Knoepke; and his great grandchildren, Wynter Morrow and Paislee Lutzi.
