He is survived by: his parents, Casey Bates and Justine Bates (Miller) of Chatfield; his siblings, Jessa of Chatfield, Hailee and Ayden of Cresco, Iowa; his grandparents, Brian, Sarah Miller of Chatfield, Paternal, John Wojtkiewicz of Wykoff, Mark, Danna Hastings of Elma, Iowa, Susan Miller of Rochester, Ed, Rose Miller of Lime Springs and Phil Grunewald of Rockport, Texas; and his aunts and uncles, Rachel Dahley (Shannon) of Wykoff, Jake Miller (Lisa) of Winona, Zed Farmer (Sydnie) of Rochester and Janie Mosier (Ed) of Brownsdale. He is also survived by many cousins and many more friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the WWOX Foundation in memory of Oliver.
