He was predeceased by: his father Clifford Bernard; and his sister-in-law Darcy Schaefer. He is survived by: his mother Lana Bernard (Erickson); his wife Lisa Schaefer; his children, Kaylie (Colton McGraw), Josh and Nate (Anna Johnson); his siblings, Molly Sletten (Brian) and Jamie (Barb); his parents-in-law, Gerald and Cleo Shaefer; and his brother-in-law David Schaefer (Teresa Best-Hanson). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
