He was predeceased by: his parents, Theron Wayne Schmidt and Jane Alair Maxwell Schmidt. He is survived by: his brothers, David Schmidt and Don Schmidt; his children, Susan Schmidt Urban (Scott) and Stephen R. Schmidt Jr. (Christina Rene Henning); his granddaughters, Amanda (Joel) and Alison (Jayson); and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Lyra, Rowan and Koda.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest or the Arbor Day Foundation.
