With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Serena Franken of Chaska, Minnesota, who passed away on January 19, 2023 at the age of 38. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Serena Franken to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Howard, Wilma Franken and Doris Laackmann; her cousins, Beth Hoyme, Casey Bonhorst, Becky Crane and Matthew Franken; and her close friend Jessica Kontz.
She is survived by: her parents, Bryon Franken and Kristi Franken (Laackmann) of Luverne; her sister Carissa Franken-Spaar (Jason Spaar) of Sioux Falls; her grandfather Marvin Laackmann (Carol Girmaldo) of Luverne; her pet Charles; and her close friend Steven Esselink. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to the Sioux Empire Pit Bull Rescue or the Child's Remembrance Garden in Luverne.
