He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Alice Vis Sr. (Groen); his former wife Nelvina Pearl Lolkus; his daughters, Darlene Vis and Carolyn DeBoer; his son-in-law Larry De Groot; his siblings, Fred and Jeanette; and his granddaughter-in-law Amber DeBoer.
He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Sankey; his daughters, Char De Groot of Luverne, MN and Marilyn De Boer (Lloyd); his son-in-law Lyle De Boer; his stepchildren, Glenda Teunissen (Greg) of Denver, CO and Chandler; his grandchildren, Michael Hart, Scott Hart, Paul DeBoer, Andrea Hart, Darcie DeBoer, Kristy Trower, Lyle DeBoer, Jr., Darin DeBoer and Devin DeBoer; and his siblings, Peter Jr., Allen "Bud", Alvin, Roger, Richard James "Jim", Henrietta Bruxvoort and Janice Veldhuizen. He is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
