With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Matthew Richard Dawson of Champlin, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 25, 2024 at the age of 43. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Eugene, Lola Peterreins, Everett and Ida Dawson; and his mother-in-law Mary Jean Ponath.

He is survived by: his parents, Richard Dawson and Linda Dawson (Peterreins); his wife Lesley Ponath; his daughters, Camryn (Gabby) and Gabby; his brother Marc (Jill); his nieces and nephews, Alivia and Brooke; his father-in-law Steve Ponath (Janet); and his siblings-in-law, Paul Ponath (Allison) and Molly Vold (DJ). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (7180 Hemlock Ln N, Maple Grove, MN 55369).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to support Matt's daughters, Camryn and Gabby.
