He is survived by: his brother Rick; his son Ben Jr.; his wife Myla; his sons, Chris Cain of Champlin, MN, Benjamin Dean Butz, Jr. (Katie) of Auburn, WA and Michael John Butz of Big Lake, MN; his grandchildren, Zoey Boynton (Benjamin) of Becker, MN, Ava, Trevor and Charles (Kelsey Butz); his father Richard Joseph Butz, Sr. of Bemidji, MN; and his sisters, Donna Wilks (Tony) of Woodbridge, VA and Barbara Jane Kitto of Bemidji, MN. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the Minneapolis American Indian Center or the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center.
