He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Berlin (Leavy) and Graydon Berlin; his brother Jay Dee Berlin; his sister-in-law Joan Gipson (Ronald); and his nephew Steve Gipson.
He is survived by: his daughter Jodi (Osborn); his son-in-law Mike; his granddaughter Lauren; his sister Elizabeth Stevenson (Martin); and his nieces and nephews, Kenny, Mike, Kim and Bev.
He served as a principal investigator on several high-level grants funded by the National Science Foundation.
