He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schmitz and Patricia Schmitz (Dugal); and his sister Darlene Short. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Schmitz (Patty) and Darla Peterson (Mike); his nephews, Allan Schmitz (Steph), Eric Schmitz (Melonie), Dan Peterson and David Peterson (Kali); his niece April Schenk (Casey); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Madison, Mason, Caleb, Cody, Nathan, Cameron and Jacob.
