She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Thompson and Gunhild Thompson (Moy); and her husband Loren Berkness. She is survived by: her stepchildren, LoAnn, Wanda, Phillip, Steven, Jeff, Kristy and Michelene. She is also survived by many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
