He was predeceased by: his father Henry Swiggum; and his half-brother Robert. He is survived by: his mother Verniel Swiggum (Pat) of Zumbrota; his spouse Pat Moore (Patricia); his children, Leah Tucker (Swiggum) of Byron, MN, Christie Swiggum of Northfield, MN, Carrie Swiggum of Vancouver, BC and Eric Swiggum of Wanamingo, MN; his siblings, Marvin Swiggum (Mel) of El Paso, TX and Susan Swiggum (Pat) of Zumbrota, MN; his siblings-in-law, Kristine Ackeret (Tim) and David Moore (Ellie); and his grandchildren, Mason, Collin, Gretchen, Reagan and Lauren. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Harvey continued to milk until 2007 due to a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease.
