He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Josephson and Florence Josephson (Jackson); and his siblings, Ardyce, Willard, Wendell, Wesley and Joyce.

He is survived by: his wife Norlene (Lawson) of Cannon Falls; his sons, Jim (Theresa) of White Rock and Dan (Allison) of Cannon Falls; his stepdaughter Sue Duden (Gary) of Nerstrand; his grandchildren, Krystal McBride (Quinton), Katie Hervey (Alec), Karen Berg (Matt), Amanda Hodgman (Trevor), Brady Chicos (Ellen Kurtz) and Dylan Tupa (Cierra Swenson); and his great grandchildren, Paycen, Sienna Hodgman and Oscar Berg.

Memorials are preferred to the Vasa Lutheran Church or the Vasa Museum.
