He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Marthaler and Theresa Marthaler (Blaeser); his wife Marlys Buck; his children, Wendy Marthaler (Jay Schlomann), Randy Ryan (Julie), Jody Meyers (Paul), Deanna Plonsky (Bruce), Tracey Weckop (Kevin) and Troy Ryan (Winifred); his siblings, Mary McDonough (Marschall), JoAnne Southworth (John) and Raymond Marthaler (Betty); and his sister-in-law Kay Lee Henderson. He was also cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Elmer Ryan, brother Joe (Jeanette) Marthaler and brother-in-law Ed Henderson. in lieu of flowers, Butch's family requests memorials to the Randolph-Hampton fire department or the American Cancer Society.
