He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Duden and Helen Duden (Fick); his wife Jean Lundell; and his brother Lyle Duden. He is survived by: his children, Pam Pagel (Ken), Rayleen Duden, Jodi Duden and Gary Duden (Sue); his grandchildren, Brendon (Shelly), Theron (Robyn), Taylor (Mindi), Jenae, Heather (Eric), Bryce (Katie), Brock (Holly) and Aaron; his siblings, Marcine Lundell, John Duden, Betty Jacobs, Karen Dicke (Dean) and Bruce Duden (Kathy); and his sister-in-law Phyllis Duden. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Ansgar's Cemetery, the renovation of the John Burch Park, or to St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church.
