He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Cornell and Louise Cornell (Schwartz); his brother Edwin, Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Alvin and Elaine Stubbe.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Ann Stubbe of Saviour's Lutheran Church; his children, Derrik Cornell (Becky), Danielle and Dallas Cornell (Erin); and his grandchildren, Peyton, Aubrey, Gavyn, Kiley, Kaylee, Beau, Asher, Annastasia, Eliah and Lakyn.
