He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jelen and Genevieve Jelen (Eischens); his son Terry Jelen; his granddaughter Paeden Jelen; his brothers-in-law, Odrean and John; and his nieces and nephews, Jesse, Tommy, Brittany and Kendra.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Jelen of Canby, MN; and his sons, Dale Jelen (Nancy) of Sioux Falls, SD, Howard Jelen of Montevideo, MN, Jamie Jelen (Teresa) of Canby, MN and Steven Jelen (Melissa) of Tea, SD. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, four brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
