He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Berckes and Elizabeth Berckes (Kraus) of Canby, Minnesota.; his brother Gene; his wife Libby Nemitz Berckes; and his stepdaughters, Teresa and Bridget Nemitz.
He is survived by: his former wife Connie Lueders; his children, Holly Muller (Steven) of Altura, MN, Bonnie Berckes (Dan Kaisser) of Minneapolis, MN, Dan Berckes (Michelle) of Clear Lake, MN, Shelly Horst (Scott) of Minneapolis, MN and Nancy Jurgenson (Randy) of Hutchinson, MN; his grandchildren, Ryan Lynch, Michael Muller (Beth), Gabe Muller, Anna Muller, Ted Berckes (Amanda), Grace Vanderbush (Jordan), Ruth Whittemore (Buddy), Justin Horst, Josh Horst, Joy Muller, Jessica Horst, Cassie Jurgenson, John Jurgenson and Devin Jurgenson; his great grandchildren, Sam, Jonah, Gideon, Ben, Rachel Muller, Elijah, Steven and Joseph Whittemore; and his sister-in-law Peggy Berckes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
