He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilding Peterson and Blanche Peterson (Osell); his wife Elaine Peterson; his daughters, Lori Schlagel and Joni Shearer (Dan); his grandson Alex Peterson; and his siblings, Wendall Peterson (Harriet), Eleanor Erickson (Dale), Alden Peterson (Joyce), Vernie Peterson (Ruth), Don Peterson, Arvin Peterson (Harlean) and Dorene Reideger.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Theresa Pearson; his sons, Steve Peterson (Jenny) and Mike Peterson (Stacey); his son-in-law Larry Schlagel (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Ryan Schlagel (Lindsay), Jamie Dingmann (Zach), Jordan Shearer (Anna), Sam Shearer (Charsi), Jenna Grazier (Austin), Jason Peterson (Alexandria), Austin Peterson (Emma), Logan Peterson and Mikala Peterson; his stepgrandchildren, Emily Sleck (Nate) and David Ruthven; his great grandchildren, Jackson Schlagel, Julia Schlagel, Weston Shearer, Wade Shearer, Paxton Sleck, Rowan Sleck and Salem Peterson; and his brother-in-law Vern Reideger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
