With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Stephen M. Schwarten (Cambridge, Minnesota), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Stephen left this world on April 5, 2025 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Stephen's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Stephen's journey be filled with peace and serenity, as his find rest in the embrace of eternity.
He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Porter; and his sister Lesley Schmid. He is survived by: his children, Jorie Bauerly (Kurt) of Milaca and Jeffrey Schwarten of Duluth; his grandchildren, Grace and Beau; and his brother James Schwarten of Billings, MT. He is also survived by relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cambridge Lutheran Church (621 Old Main St N, Cambridge, MN 55008). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery - East Rush.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cambridge Lutheran Church, St. Olaf College (football athletics, biology department or general fund) or the Cambridge Isanti Dollars for Scholars Health Career Scholarship Fund.
