He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Irene; his siblings, Gary and Diane; and his grandson Mitch Karstens.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty; his children, Kelly Holgate (Dave), Steven (Heather) and Colleen Karstens; his grandson Cody Karstens (Sam); and his great grandchildren, Hazel and Lily Karstens. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
