He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Slater and Charlotte Slater (Nyberg); his wife Nancy; and his siblings, Charles, Tommy, Duane Slater and Judy Ziebarth.
He is survived by: his sons, David Slater (Jill) of Cambridge, Eric Skalbeck (Tracey) of Eveleth, Mark Skalbeck (Laura) of Coon Rapids and Dean Skalbeck (Kathy); and his sisters-in-law, Marie Slater of Cambridge and Karen Slater. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home (311 Ashland St S, Cambridge, MN 55008).
